Our 2020 Eggfest has been rescheduled for September 13, 2020

Under the current conditions we have decided for the safety of everyone, we are taking our event to a fall date of September 13, 2020

-We will take safety precautions and add more space to our outdoor event.

-We will offer refunds for fees paid (paid to same person who originally paid) up until May 1st.  If we do not receive email requesting refund your registrations will be rolled over to the new date. Email address BGE@EggsbytheBay.com.

-Demo Eggs that have been purchased, we will send out an option to pick up new in box Eggs at our warehouse in Santa Clara first week of May, or allow them to be picked up on the new Eggfest date (your choice). 

-Eggfest Chefs have already been notified, if you have not, please contact us about your intentions of joining us at the new date.

-Once we have calculated new attendance figures, new registrations will be accepted after June 1st.

Welcome to our 2020 Eggs by the Bay EGGFEST, this is our 15th Annual Eggs by the Bay Eggfest.  It just seems like yesterday when I was speaking with my local Egger buddies about throwing the 1st California Eggfest--back in 2005! The event continues to grow, so much that we had to move our event to yet another larger venue in Saratoga, California. We will take over a lovely tree lined space at West Valley College.  The actual address is  14000 Fruitvale Ave, Saratoga, CA 95070.  The overwhelming feedback from our community of Eggers who have attended our  annual Eggfest has been super positive . They love the delicious food, wine, beer, live music and a day with our fellow Egger community. 

So lets get started.  Mark your calendar for Eggs by the Bay Eggfest on September 13, 2020, 10 am to 3pm.  Event Registration for attendees is now open. You must register to attend. There will be no tickets available for purchase after registration closes. No one will admitted at the event unless they are registered (we must be contacted if you have a name change of any guest).  Since the event sells out every year by end of February, we recommend to make registration early.  This year's event will be capped at a total of 550 registered guests.  Attendees pay a flat admission fee that allows them to eat (sample food) and drink throughout the day, in addition you get access to Big Green Egg Cooking classes.

If you have never been to an Eggfest you are in for a Treat!  First rule of thumb--Pace yourself. It's easy to get excited about a certain dish and want "just another bite", but be forewarned, you WON'T leave hungry.  Check out the Chef Menus and serving times posted at each serving station beforehand so you can map out your eating adventure for the day.  We also encourage registered attendees to arrive at the Eggfest between the hours of 10 am and 12 noon when most of the Chefs are putting out their best main menu dishes. This ensures no one misses out on experiencing all the delicious samplings that come off the Eggs.  In the past, there have been a few instances where guests arrive in the late afternoon and missed out on some really great eats...so please come early and enjoy the day.  We will also offer a small sampling of Big Green Egg accessories for sale in a section close to the event entry area.   There will be live music all day with plenty of shade to sit and enjoy.  Our venue offers a nice shaded area as well as plenty of sun for attendees.  There will be plenty of seating and tables there as well.  

Eggfest FAQ's

Question-Can I bring my own chairs?

Answer-Yes, while we offer several seats many bring their own as well.

Question-Can I bring a pet?

Answer-No pets are allowed, service dogs must provide credentials.

Question-Will there be a Kid's zone?

Answer-Yes, we will have a face painter and a bounce house.  Kids should not be left unattended, so plan accordingly.

Question-Can I bring my own pop up canopy or tent?

Answer-No, only chairs, cooler and blankets will be allowed to be set up inside Eggfest.

Question-Can I bring my own drinks/cooler.

Answer-Yes, but no alcoholic beverages of any kind be brought into Eggfest.

For Eggfest Demo Egg Customers:

The Eggfest Eggs that will be used that day will sold at a substantial discounted rate, these Demo Eggs can be bought in advance and are limited in supply.  Please see our Demo Egg page here on the Eggs by the Bay website. We will offer a brief Big Green Egg Basics class at the Eggfest starting  at 10:20am.  We will also offer a 3 hr version in June at our Santa Clara classroom facility.  Demo Egg buyers will be offered a $30 discount on the $90 class fee price.

For Eggfest Chefs-

We will accepting 30 Eggfest Chefs this year. The registration fees are waived for you and up to 5 Eggfest Cook team members (all must be registered by name). Cook team members can not enter if cook is not present.  You and your cook team will have access to samplings, soda, beer and wine throughout the day from between 10 am through 2 pm. 

For confirmed Eggfest Chefs participation guidelines are as follows below. 
Eggfest Chefs will have a new Big Green Egg to cook on the day of the Fest. 
On Sunday, Chefs will need to arrive no later than 9 am on Sunday Morning.  The registration table will be located at event entrance. Please come by to check in and pick up your name tag as well as corresponding "People's Choice" tickets. The Registration team will get your your Chef Liaison Team member to escort you to your assigned cook station for set up. Please tell your cook team to inform the registration table team that they are part of your cook team so that we can escort them to your station as well. 
The Chef Liaison Team member will escort you to your assigned station and provide you with your service station set up. We will supply you with supplies to help with food service (paper plates, utensils, napkins, etc) as well as lump charcoal and firestarters.  Please bring your own food safe gloves (we have a limited supply in case you forget yours). Anything else you need to cook your menu  such as tongs, spatula, rib racks, dutch oven, mixing bowls, measuring spoons, ingredients for your cook, folding chairs etc please bring yourself. Please be aware of handling food safely and keeping your work areas clean.  If your ingredients need to be kept cold, you'll need to bring a cooler.  We won't have any refrigerators! We will have extra ice brought in throughout the day as needed. If you have specific needs we will try to accommodate you as well as we can but you need to tell us before the Eggfest. Your cook space will have 1-10'x10' popup, 2-6' serving table provided.  Platesetters will need to be reserved in advance if you need one for the day.
The lighting of the eggs will start between 9:00-9:30am.   Food is expected to come off the eggs by 10/11 am when attendees begin to arrive. 
Back by popular demand from last year will be our "Eggfest People's Choice".  All paid attendees will have a total of 5 People Choice (PC) tickets to award their favorite Eggfest Cook that day. Attendees must award their PC before 2PM.  PC awards will be at 2:45pm with a nice recognition prize basket for the winning Chef.
We also encourage you to dress up your cooking space with any themes you may have.  We will recognize the cooking team with the "Best Booth" award.  Rules are simple, you must use the front table and red tablecloth that is provided.  Examples are team shirts/costumes, decorating the front serving tables etc.   If you have any questions on these ideas, feel free to ask ahead of time.

No advertising will be allowed unless approved in advance, all unapproved booth advertising will have to be removed.  Eggfest sponsorships are available, if interested please  contact us at BGE@EggsbytheBay.com

For our Eggfest Volunteers:
We are always looking for volunteer help at our Eggfest, if you are interested in helping the day of the Eggfest send an email to us and we can explain how that works.  Setting up and tearing down are the main chores we will deal with, we do try to ensure that our volunteers enjoy the Eggfest itself as well as attendees.
